Cœur rouge

landmark

The three story building at the corner of Rue des Poissonniers and Rue de la Charbonniere wears a coat of deep crimson paint that distinguishes it from the surrounding stone facades. Built in the late nineteenth century, the structure served for decades as a local hub for laborers and residents of the Goutte d Or. It later became a community center, housing workshops and social services that anchored the neighborhood, eventually gaining its current name from the striking red exterior that people use as a waypoint.
