Musée de l'Ordre de la Libération

The Musée de l'Ordre de la Libération sits behind the heavy stone walls of the Hôtel des Invalides, marked by the Cross of Lorraine insignia near its entrance. This museum guards the memory of the French Resistance during the second world war. It holds the personal belongings of the one thousand and thirty-eight companions who received the Order of Liberation. General Charles de Gaulle established this order in nineteen forty to honor those who fought to reclaim French freedom against the Nazi occupation.
