Musée d'Art Naïf – Max Fourny

The building standing before you was originally constructed in eighteen sixty-eight as a bustling covered market. Designed with the distinctive metallic architecture known as Baltard style, it once served the daily needs of the Montmartre neighborhood. In nineteen eighty-six, the structure was transformed into a museum dedicated to the collection of Max Fourny. Max Fourny was an unconventional figure who began his professional life as a competitive motor racing driver in the nineteen thirties, piloting Bugattis at the legendary twenty-four hours of Le Mans race before turning his full attention to the world of art publishing and collection.
