The artist Frederic Baron spent eight years traveling the world and knocking on doors to collect the phrase I love you in as many languages as he could find. He gathered these declarations on thousands of small slips of paper, filling three massive notebooks with expressions of love from foreign embassies, neighbors, and strangers alike. This exhaustive effort was his attempt to capture the universal nature of the sentiment, eventually leading him to compile these phrases into a single, permanent installation.
