The mural in Goutte d'Or features a giant, monochromatic hand cradling a seedling, rendered in deep black and white pigment. Artist Andreco painted this work in two thousand fifteen to coincide with the United Nations Climate Change Conference hosted in Paris. He collaborated with local scientists to choose imagery that represents the connection between urban spaces and environmental health. The paint itself contains a titanium dioxide compound that reacts with sunlight to break down air pollutants like nitrogen oxide on the surface.
