Césure

You are approaching Césure, a massive twenty-five thousand square meter complex that occupies the former Censier campus of the Sorbonne-Nouvelle University. Before it became this vibrant public space, the building sat dormant following the university's relocation to a new campus. Because the aging structure contained asbestos, it required a complete, long-term renovation, leaving a significant gap of time between the university's departure and the start of construction. Rather than letting the site sit empty in the heart of the Latin Quarter, city planners and urban developers turned the campus into an experimental hub for community and culture.
