Fontaine Ephésienne de Georges Jeanclos

The Fontaine Ephésienne features a cluster of bronze figures huddled together in a leaden embrace, their faces smoothed away into blank, serene masks. Georges Jeanclos cast these forms in nineteen eighty-four to evoke the ancient rhythms of water and ritual. He designed the fountain to spill continuously over the bronze, turning the sculpture into a weeping monument. It sits in the garden as a deliberate encounter with silence, far removed from the surrounding noise of the park.
