The tomb of Porfirio Diaz rests in the Montparnasse Cemetery, thousands of miles from the country he ruled for over three decades. After the outbreak of the Mexican Revolution in 1910, the former general and long-serving president fled into exile, ultimately settling in Paris where he passed away in 1915. Despite his complex legacy in Mexico as both a modernizer and a dictator, his final resting place remains in France, unclaimed by his homeland.
