Andreco - Climate Art Project - Mural

The mural you see on the facade of the Richomme Primary School is the inaugural piece of an international series known as the Climate Art Project. The Italian artist Andreco created this work in late two thousand fifteen to coincide with the United Nations Climate Change Conference, or COP twenty-one, held in Paris. As both a visual artist and an environmental engineer, Andreco designed the mural to translate complex scientific data into a symbolic visual language. You will notice schematic representations of the water and carbon dioxide cycles integrated across the wall. These images serve as a public record of the planet's atmospheric conditions, charting the rising levels of greenhouse gases alongside the resulting environmental shifts like flooding and heat waves. By placing this work in the heart of the Goutte d'Or neighborhood, the artist aimed to bridge the gap between academic climate research and the daily life of the local community.
