Hameau de Chantilly (Paris)

The Hameau de Chantilly in Paris was a short-lived but extravagant imitation of the famous aristocratic village at the Château de Chantilly. Constructed in 1787 by Bathilde d'Orléans, the Duchess of Bourbon, it stood within the lush gardens of the Élysée Palace. It featured a collection of rustic cottages designed to mirror the whimsical, thatched-roof aesthetic that was the height of fashion among the French elite at the time.
