Parc Kellermann

Parc Kellermann rests on a site that once served as the defensive edge of Paris. This land was part of the nineteenth century Thiers fortifications, a series of walls and trenches that were intended to protect the city but ultimately failed to offer any real security during the Prussian invasion of eighteen seventy. Following the removal of these fortifications in the early twentieth century, the city transformed this former military zone into a public space, replacing defensive emptiness with greenery and recreational facilities.
