Place Tony Dreyfus

This public space is named for Tony Dreyfus, a French lawyer and politician who served as the mayor of this tenth arrondissement for nearly thirteen years. The city council officially dedicated this site at the intersection of the rue du Chateau d Eau and the rue Bouchardon in late December of twenty twenty-three, only months after his death. Dreyfus was a deeply influential local figure who built his career on social causes, including his early work representing factory laborers and the trade union movement. While he held national roles as a secretary of state, his tenure as mayor remains the most significant aspect of his legacy for the people of this neighborhood.
