The Musee du Fumeur sits at seven rue Pache in a space that once functioned as a neighborhood butcher shop. Founders Michka Seeliger-Chatelain and Tigrane Hadengue transformed this storefront into a museum in 2001 to chronicle the human relationship with smoking across different cultures and centuries. While the shop maintains a specialized boutique that sells smoking apparatus, the exhibition space explores how burning plants moved from a sacred, shamanic ritual to a widespread social and recreational activity.
