Fontaine Fernand Pouillon

The fountain you see is a work of the architect Fernand Pouillon, a creator known for his complex and controversial life as much as his buildings. It stands as a neoclassical pastiche, featuring three fluted Doric columns of increasing diameter from which water flows into a series of basins. Pouillon designed this piece to pay homage to the eighteenth-century architect Claude-Nicolas Ledoux, specifically drawing inspiration from the decorative motifs at the Saline Royale d'Arc-et-Senans.
