ART42 - Musée d'art urbain

museum

Art42 exists as a contradiction to the very spirit of urban art because it brings pieces meant for the wild, public sprawl of city streets into a controlled, interior environment. Located in the heart of the 42 coding school in the seventeenth arrondissement, the space occupies four thousand square meters of floor area across three levels. It serves as a permanent home for a private collection amassed by Nicolas Laugero Lasserre, featuring around one hundred and fifty works by influential figures like Banksy, JR, and Invader. By mounting these pieces on walls inside a high-tech academic facility, the venue forces a collision between ephemeral street culture and the permanence of a traditional gallery setting.
