Fondation Francès

museum

The Fondation Francès began its life in a medieval house in Senlis, but it chose this industrial building in Clichy to expand its reach. The space you are approaching is a former factory that has been completely transformed to house a collection of nearly eight hundred contemporary artworks. Its founders, Estelle and Hervé Francès, created this site as a laboratory for critical thinking rather than a traditional museum. They built their collection over two decades with a singular focus on the theme of humans and their excesses. This guiding principle explores the complex tensions of our world, often highlighting social and economic critiques through installations, paintings, and photography.
