Square Charles de Gaulle

The Square Charles de Gaulle serves as the primary municipal garden for the town of Clichy. Its most recognizable feature is the bronze bust of General de Gaulle, which rests on a stone pedestal surrounded by formal, manicured flowerbeds. The park occupies land that once belonged to the expansive private estates of the old Clichy aristocracy. Before the local government purchased the site to create this public space, the area hosted a bustling weekly market where merchants sold produce harvested from nearby farms.
