Hôtel de Ville, Clichy

landmark

The Hôtel de Ville you are approaching serves as the administrative center for the town of Clichy. Its current neoclassical facade was designed by the architect Jules Depoix and first opened its doors to the public in eighteen seventy-eight. The building replaced earlier municipal offices that had been scattered throughout the town as it rapidly industrialized during the nineteenth century. When you look at the structure, you are seeing a symbol of the town's governance that has stood on this spot for nearly one hundred and fifty years.
