museum

The Musée d'art urbain, known as ART42, sits inside an old vocational school building marked by a distinctive industrial facade near the Porte de Clichy. This is the first permanent street art museum in France, housing over one hundred and fifty pieces by international artists like Banksy, JR, and Invader. Nicolas Laugero Lasserre opened these doors in two thousand sixteen to display his private collection, treating graffiti as fine art rather than vandalism. A student once painted over a piece before realizing its value.
