Château des Brouillards

The Château des Brouillards features a sloping, slate-covered roof and a facade painted in a soft, faded pink. It sits at the end of a private cul-de-sac, tucked away from the main streets of Montmartre. Originally a mid-eighteenth-century folly, it earned its name from the thick mists that rose from the nearby natural springs. The writer Gérard de Nerval often stayed here, famously strolling through the gardens while holding a lobster on a blue silk leash.
