Musée Jean-Jacques Henner

The Musée Jean-Jacques Henner stands out with its red brick facade and the glass-roofed conservatory that juts into the garden. This building began as a nineteenth century mansion for the painter Guillaume Dubufe. After he died, the state acquired the property to house the collection of his friend, the painter Jean-Jacques Henner. Henner was famous for his ghostly, pale nudes set against dark, moody backgrounds. His studio remains exactly as he left it, with brushes and unfinished canvases still resting on their easels.
