Parc du Colonel Manhes

The green space you are approaching is officially known as the Jardin Paul-Didier. It is located along the Rue du Colonel-Manhès in the seventeenth arrondissement. While the street name honors Henri Manhès, a courageous leader in the French Resistance who survived the Buchenwald concentration camp, the park itself was named for Paul Didier. Didier was a magistrate and a key deputy to the legendary resistance figure Jean Moulin. This quiet garden was established in 2005 and occupies a portion of land that once served the Ligne de Petite Ceinture, the historic circular railway that once ringed the city of Paris.
