The Château de L'Etang wears a distinct neoclassical facade, marked by a rhythmic row of arched windows that define its garden front. Built in the eighteen thirties, this house served as a summer residence for the wealthy Parisian elite escaping the city heat. Its most curious tenant was the actress Rachel Félix. She filled the halls with her dramatic flair, often rehearsing lines for the Comédie-Française while wandering the grounds, until her deteriorating health forced her to leave the property behind in eighteen fifty-eight.
