The Aimé Césaire Garden sits on the site of a former knitting factory in Le Pré-Saint-Gervais. Concrete foundations of the old textile workshops remain hidden beneath the soil, partially integrated into the new landscape design. The space honors the poet and politician from Martinique who famously coined the term negritude. Locals often gather here among the terraced gardens and orchards that replaced the industrial noise. A solitary steel sculpture near the entrance mimics the structure of the old factory chimney.
