La Géode

cultural

The sphere of La Géode reflects the entire surrounding park in its polished stainless steel surface, acting as a massive, curved mirror that stands out against the greenery. This structure houses an omnimax cinema, designed to project images onto a hemispherical screen that wraps around the audience. When it opened in nineteen eighty-five, the architect Adrien Fainsilber used over six thousand steel triangles to create its precise geometry, ensuring that the building itself became the most recognizable landmark in the Parc de la Villette.
