Nim Po’t

other

Nim Po’t sits behind a wide, understated wooden entrance on Fifth Avenue North. Inside, a cavernous, long hall holds thousands of handmade textiles from across the highlands of Guatemala. Each display is curated by the weaving cooperatives themselves, allowing indigenous artisans to set their own prices for their work. The shop operates as a direct link between those master weavers and the public. You might find a single huipil that took a woman six months to complete on a backstrap loom.
