Reykjavík Maritime Museum

The Reykjavik Maritime Museum sits inside a former fish freezing plant, recognizable by its jagged, industrial silhouette and the deep red paint covering its metal exterior. It occupies the edge of the Grandi harbor, where workers once processed the daily catch of cod. In nineteen sixty-nine, the plant owner, Baddi, famously refused to sell his fish to anyone who wouldn't pay his price, leaving thousands of tons of cargo to rot on the docks. That stubbornness still haunts the harbor's quiet corners.
