The Sassoon Dock stands out because of its vibrant, chaotic walls, which are covered in massive, colorful murals painted by artists from around the world. Built in eighteen seventy-five by the firm David Sassoon and Company, it was the first wet dock in Mumbai. This is where David Sassoon, a wealthy Jewish merchant, centralized his shipping business. Thousands of fishing boats return here every morning, filling the air with the smell of salt and the constant noise of the Koli community trading their daily catch.
