The Morya Mandir theater in Sunder Nagar stands out for its curved, imposing concrete facade that has anchored the neighborhood since nineteen seventy-four. It opened its doors with the screening of the film Kora Kagaz, quickly becoming a landmark for local moviegoers. While many single-screen cinemas across Mumbai closed their doors as multiplexes rose, Morya Mandir kept running. It earned a place in cinema history by screening the film Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge continuously for over twenty-five years.
