Brama kluskowa

historic

The Brama Kluskowa, or Dumpling Gate, is a narrow stone archway connecting two houses on Saint Elizabeth Street. A small stone dumpling sits carved into the underside of the arch. Legend says a man named Gotfryd fell ill and desperately craved his wife’s homemade dumplings. After she cooked a final bowl, he reached for one, but the dumpling flew from his hand, turned to stone, and wedged itself into the arch. The poor man never got his meal, and the stone remains.
