경주향교

Gyeongju Hyanggyo features a distinct arrangement where the lecture hall sits in front of the main shrine, a layout known as the front-hall, back-shrine style. This complex served as the premier educational institution for students in Gyeongju during the Joseon Dynasty. In the year fifteen ninety-two, fire destroyed the buildings during the Imjin War. Local scholars rebuilt the structure in sixteen hundred. Today, the incense burners and wooden desks remain in the hall, much as they were when students prepared for civil service examinations.
