Waroros Market

landmark

Waroros Market sits beneath a roof of faded corrugated metal, characterized by long, narrow aisles that cut through the center of the building like veins. This structure serves as the primary trade hub for northern Thailand, holding a history that stretches back to the early twentieth century when it was known as the Kad Luang, or the Great Market. Princess Dara Rasami established this commercial center to replace the older riverside trade stalls, and her influence keeps the local spirit alive here.
