Night Bazaar Chiang Mai

landmark

The Chiang Mai Night Bazaar stretches along a kilometer of sidewalk, marked by rows of crimson tents and the scent of grilled meats. This strip began in the early nineteen seventies as a small collection of stalls operated by local merchants from the Yunnan province who traveled along the river trade route. They settled near this intersection to sell silk and tea to passing traders. Today, those original family stalls sit beneath a vast, permanent metal roof, surrounded by endless rows of modern souvenirs.
