Chansom Memorial Bridge (Khua Khaek)

landmark

The Chansom Memorial Bridge spans the Ping River with a distinct, arched iron frame painted in a soft, weathered green. This pedestrian crossing connects the bustling Wat Ket community to the city center. It replaced a series of wooden crossings that frequently washed away during the rainy season. A local merchant named Khun Chansom funded the current bridge in nineteen sixty-five to ensure residents could reach the morning market safely. Her statue sits quietly near the entrance, watching the water move beneath the steel.
