The Hazzopulo Pasaji features a pair of narrow, iron-gated entrances that lead into a sheltered, stone-paved courtyard tucked between higher residential walls. Built in eighteen seventy-one by a wealthy merchant family, this passage served as a commercial hub for tailors and stationers. In the nineteen seventies, the quiet courtyard became the preferred meeting spot for young writers and poets, including the Nobel laureate Orhan Pamuk, who spent his afternoons here observing the city while sipping tea at the small cafe tables.
