The Firuzağa Mosque features a single minaret and a broad, wooden-eaved roof that sits low against the street corner. Firuz Ağa, who served as the chief treasurer for Sultan Bayezid the Second, commissioned this structure in fourteen ninety-one. Legend claims he built it here because he discovered a beautiful, secluded garden on the site while hunting. He supposedly traded his horse for the land to ensure the prayer space remained precisely in that spot, overlooking the harbor of the Golden Horn.
