The Museum of Innocence

The Museum of Innocence sits inside a weathered, dark red row house on a quiet corner in Firuzağa. It houses a vast collection of everyday objects, from thousands of cigarette butts to salt shakers, all curated by the author Orhan Pamuk. These items correspond to the chapters of his novel of the same name, representing the obsessions of a fictional character named Kemal. Pamuk spent years scavenging these trinkets from Istanbul's old neighborhoods to build a physical home for a story he wrote.
