Atiye Sokak is a narrow, pedestrian-friendly street paved with distinctive dark cobblestones that set it apart from the bustling, car-choked arteries of Harbiye. In the nineteen eighties, this quiet corridor functioned as a forgotten back alley behind large apartment blocks. Local restaurant owners eventually pooled their resources to replace the asphalt, install trees, and move tables outside. Today, the street relies on this tight, clustered layout to create a consistent, shaded pocket of cafes that remain busy long after midnight.
