Big Hard Mural

You are standing near the former site of one of the most debated pieces of street art in London. For years, the exterior wall of the Bethnal Green Working Men's Club featured a mural titled Yellow Lines Flower Painter. Painted in two thousand seven by the artist Banksy, the work depicted an exhausted worker in dungarees sitting next to a bright yellow flower that appeared to sprout directly from the road's double yellow lines. This mural transformed a mundane patch of brickwork into a landmark by blurring the line between urban infrastructure and art.
