Baltic Exchange bombing

On the evening of April tenth, nineteen ninety-two, a massive bomb concealed in a truck detonated outside the Baltic Exchange building. The blast was the most powerful to strike mainland Britain since the Second World War. It killed three people and left ninety-one injured while inflicting catastrophic damage on the historic exchange and surrounding structures. The building, which served as the world’s leading international shipping market, was left in ruins, and its destruction fundamentally altered the architectural and security landscape of the City of London.
