London Fire Brigade Museum

The London Fire Brigade Museum once operated from Winchester House, which served as the official residence of Captain Sir Eyre Massey Shaw. As the Superintendent of the Metropolitan Fire Brigade during the nineteenth century, Captain Shaw became a towering figure in the history of the city. He famously hosted high society gatherings at this very site, turning the home of a fire chief into a social hub for London elites.
