Colville Square Gardens stands as a quiet, rectangular green space that hides a history of intense local struggle. In the 1960s, this area was a private garden, restricted and inaccessible to the neighborhood around it. Local residents organized and campaigned to break through these barriers, eventually forcing the local council to purchase the land and open it to the public as a community space.
