Bill Graham Civic Auditorium

The Bill Graham Civic Auditorium stands on a site that once held the original City Hall, a structure that collapsed during the nineteen-o-six earthquake. Following that disaster, the city utilized the location to construct a new, grand venue for the nineteen-fifteen Panama-Pacific International Exposition. Architects designed the building in the Beaux-Arts style, incorporating massive steel frames and granite to symbolize the city's endurance and rebirth after the fire.
