The building you are approaching began its life in nineteen twelve as the New Druid Temple. It served as the ceremonial seat for California’s Supreme Grove, a fraternal order that held its rites within these high-ceilinged walls. Its architecture features a distinct Renaissance Revival style with strong Second Empire influences, marking it as a unique vestige of the early twentieth century amidst the modern arts infrastructure of the Civic Center.
