The Sydney Goldstein Theater, which you are approaching, began its life in 1927 as the grand auditorium for the High School of Commerce. The building is a rare example of Spanish Colonial Revival architecture in the city, designed by the prominent architect John Reid Junior. While it was built to host school assemblies, it stands as an architectural jewel with an ornate, timeless interior that has survived nearly a century of radical changes in use.
