Forward, Warrior!! Mural Project

The Forward, Warrior mural features a sprawling, multi-colored portrait of a woman wearing a crown of flowers, painted across the brick side of a long building. Local artists Pete Fowler and Mandy Forbes organized this project in twenty-thirteen to reclaim the wall from persistent graffiti tagging. They invited neighbors and residents to paint sections of the design, turning the exterior into a collaborative piece. The mural acts as a marker for the community's creative focus and its ongoing efforts to define the neighborhood's visual identity.
