The Municipal Market features a high arched entrance and a repeating pattern of white stucco and brick that spans an entire city block. It opened in nineteen twenty-four, replacing an open-air market that burned down. Local farmers needed a protected space to sell their goods, so they moved inside this concrete structure. People still call it the Sweet Auburn Curb Market, a nod to the original vendors who pulled their wagons right up to the street curb to sell their produce.
