The Westin Peachtree Plaza is a cylinder of mirrored glass that rises over seven hundred feet above the downtown streets. When it opened in nineteen seventy-six, it held the title of the tallest hotel in the world. Architect John Portman designed the structure to reflect the city’s skyline on its curved, reflective surface. The tower holds over one thousand guest rooms and a revolving restaurant at the very top that completes a full rotation every hour.
