Woodruff Park

landmark

Woodruff Park is defined by the massive, brightly colored kinetic sculpture known as Atlanta from the Ashes. This bronze phoenix, rising from a tangled web of abstract metal flames, occupies the heart of the space. Robert Woodruff, the longtime leader of The Coca-Cola Company, donated the money for this land in nineteen seventy-three. He intended for the park to serve as a green anchor for the downtown business district. It sits directly atop an underground spring that once supplied the original city settlement.
