The notched, beige granite facade of the Truist Plaza rises as a jagged silhouette against the downtown Atlanta skyline. Completed in nineteen ninety-two, the tower reaches eight hundred and seventy-one feet, making it the tallest building in the city. Architect John Portman designed the structure to feature two distinct, curved wings that reflect light differently throughout the day. It served as the corporate headquarters for SunTrust Bank, which later merged to become Truist, forever altering the profile of the Peachtree Center district.
